Title: Please let me go to your school

Title: Please let me go to your school
A’kum sir. I am so sorry for being late in posting this blog. There are some problems in surfing the net. As you can remember we had discussed this topic in the class.
Okay, back to the business. In this unit, I have learnt haw does the writer construct the participants in the text and how is the reader is constructed. As the time passes by, I started to understand how to do the assignment. Before this, I really had a big problem in doing the positioning. I couldn’t think critically but when it comes to the third article, it become clearer in writing the positioning.
I really enjoy in reading this kind of text because it really gives me some information’s about the discrimination on children with disabilities. In my point of view, this shouldn’t happen because they also have the rights to further their study. There are mentally perfect but are not physically perfect. They mustn’t be discriminated because of that. This text doesn’t has any difficult concepts and understandable because it is straight forward. However, I’m still trying hard in writing a good positioning for the next coming assignment. That’s all for now..

Burning Out at Nine?

A’kum.. hai sir, it’s me again.. I would like to share something with you about this topic. We had discussed this topic in the class and I’m really interested in this kind of question. This is the most interesting part as I can give my argument and evidence. This text is really understandable and straightforward. I can discover the perspective and positioning without taking much time.
Actually I do not agree with this situation. In my point of view, kids should not be abandoned with a lot of works. They are still too young to be busy and playing is the best way for them to explore the world. If this specialty is taken from them, they will not have the experience to be a kid. Parents always want the best for their children but this doesn’t mean that the children can not enjoy their life. A new study suggests that kids are overscheduled, overworked and running out of time for fun.
For me, kids will always be as kids. They have the feelings to play with the peers. At the early stage of childhood, I think it is enough for them to study only at school. There is no need for them to attend the tuition or additional classes. They need to have their leisure time to play and rest. All work and no play could make for some very messed-up kids. Child experts usually a divided bunch, agree that fun is good. An expert also said that play is the most powerful way as a child explores the world and learns about himself. This is because, unstructured play encourages independent thinking and allows the youngsters to negotiate their relationships with their peers. As for this topic, I had no problem with any terminology because it is short and straight forward. I think that is all about this topic... till we meet again another time... thank you..

A sketch of a possible linguistic approach to critical literacy.

A sketch of a possible linguistic approach to critical literacy.
A’kum sir Johari...It’s been a while since I posted the last blog. This blog is regarding the next text that is in Reading 3.3- A sketch of a possible linguistic approach to critical literacy. If u still remember, I was the one who presented this topic and because of that, I’m quite knowledgeable about this topic as I did a study before presenting this topic.
Actually this topic is to make people understand about a topic. The writer sees the role of a linguistic approach to literacy as making clear the technology of written text, how written language works and how can people use this knowledge to become critically literate. The writer selected relevant aspect of the texts such as genre, register and grammar to find out the ideology behind the text.
There are two types of text that is Text A and Text B and there are almost the same. Both texts are focusing on the people in business but the way they were written are different. Text A is a discussion essay as it presented both sides of issue. It has two stances. Text B is a report because it is more general. It uses nominalizations to make it more academic.
At first, it was really hard for me to understand this text but at last after the study and discussion had been done I can understand them well. This kind of knowledge is really important in order to make the ideological positioning. Furthermore, these infos can be used in texts analyzing. That’s all for now..thank you.. see u next time.. adios..
